Garissa Township lawmaker Aden Duale hit out at Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe over alleged profiling of the Somali community for political expediency.

Duale was reacting to recent remarks made by Igathe during a meeting with members of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance to the effect that, and I quote; “45 Kikuyu MCAs in Nairobi are controlled by three Somalis” and attributed this as the reason why the ward reps have failed to make their numbers count in the day to day running of the affairs of the city.

He added: “The City County of Nairobi belongs to all Kenyans . It’s not a preserve of the few. Nairobians deserve a visionary leader who will restore its former glory not a tribal bigot and merchant of division,”

Duale claimed that the Azimio la Umoja flag bearer had resorted resorted to “tribal politics” after his “outrageous publicity stunts flopped,”

He now wants the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to investigate the remarks even as he promised to spearhead a campaign against Igathe in the city.
